Olivier Petiteau: Grenouilles et Champignons
Olivier Petiteau's work is characterized by rigorous theoretical reflection, structuring his work around three main axes: statistics, matter and formality. Through these elements, Petiteau creates a unique artistic universe, where methodological rigor and the quest for meaning meet.
Olivier Petiteau's creative approach is based on a methodical thought process, in which the establishment of rules plays a central role. For him, these rules are a form of liberation, making it possible to exclude all subjectivity and achieve a new form of freedom.
As he explains: « The rules we set ourselves allow us to stand back, and by building rules we build a new freedom. A freedom not built on subjectivity, built on something other than emotions. Exclude myself to be even more present. »
This theory-based approach is a way for the artist to convey a social message, highlighting fundamental issues rather than personal emotions.
