Born in Serbia, Brankica Žilović moved to France to pursue her studies at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, where she was able to develop a unique approach combining traditional and contemporary techniques.
Over the years, Brankica has distinguished herself by her ability to incorporate autobiographical elements into her work, creating a dialogue between her Serbian roots and her experience in France. Her work, exhibited in this solo show at the Villa Médicis in Saint Maur des Fossés, bears witness to this duality.
Labelled a Musée de France in 2003, the Musée de Saint-Maur was founded at the beginning of the 20th century. It continues to maintain its dynamism by regularly renewing its range of exhibitions and events.
