TO CELEBRATE ITS 38TH ANNIVERSARY, Oniris undertook a complete renovation of its main gallery at 38 rue d'Antrain during the summer of 2024.
The entire gallery exhibition space has been renovated and brought up to the highest standards: ceilings, floors, walls, heating and lighting have all been upgraded, with only the shop window remaining.
Since October 11, we are delighted to welcome you to our new exhibition space for Olivier Petiteau's exhibition “Grenouilles et Champignons”.
The gallery renovation project was coordinated by Rennes-based project management agency agency 1point61, under the direction of François Quenet.
Opened in September 1986 at 40 rue d'Antrain [*], with an inaugural exhibition by François Morellet, this first space welcomed many artists, including, in addition to those we still present, names such as Valerio Adami, Arman, Peter Klasen, Pierre Tal-Coat and even Pierre Soulages with Pierrette Boch. From the outset, most of the artists who have exhibited in this space have participated in the life of the gallery as part of a lasting artistic collaboration. In 1989, the gallery expanded into the neighboring building at 38 rue d'Antrain. After a period of several years with two very large adjoining exhibition spaces, the Oniris gallery refocused on its current address at 38 rue d'Antrain.
