FROM 14 MAY TO 10 OCTOBER 2022
After Jean-Pierre Pincemin's engravings in 2016, the Museums of Sens offer you a selection of rarely presented sculpted works and paintings. Sculptures and paintings will thus interact in the beautiful hall of the Orangery, for another approach to the abundant work of Jean-Pierre Pincemin.
An ogre of curiosity and an unusual personality, Jean-Pierre Pincemin constantly confronts works of the past and blurs references, his creative pleasure prevailing over avant-garde debates. In parallel to painting, he develops a sculpture in perpetual reinvention and experiments with all sorts of materials, techniques and balances.
The sculpture does not obey "an order of accumulation, since it is a grammatical order. It is rather an order of assembly and it is a totally different phenomenon from accumulation. Extract from the interview with Jean-Pierre Pincemin on sculpture by D. Demartini, exhibition catalogue
Jean-Pierre Pincemin's work was regularly exhibited at the Oniris gallery in solo and group shows from 1992 until his passing in 2005.
Among the most outstanding presentations, our solo show of Pincemin at the FIAC in October 2000 in Paris presented for the first time to the public the scupltures of this incredible artist (photo above).
