Group show - Invitation #2 - spring 2022 - Oniris

On a proposal from La Galerie des Petits Carreaux, the Oniris gallery invites you to discover the creations of three new artists: Nikolas Fouré, Pierre Galopin and Damien Marchal for the exhibition entitled "Invitation #2".

The three artists are in their forties and live in Rennes. They have, among their common points, a taste for abstraction and the exploration of classical mediums: drawing, sculpture and painting.

Nikolas Fouré

Nikolas Fouré's artistic practice turns as much to sculpture as to drawing or installation. His research focuses on the environment, our environment: architectural, natural, social ... concrete data that are gradually transformed into abstract forms, imagined and yet well from the real.

Pierre Galopin

From the beginning of his artistic practice, Pierre Galopin turned to the painting medium. On canvas, he plays with chance by using layers of varnish that are randomly and partially superimposed. Beyond his research on the material and the colors which are almost anecdotal, Pierre Galopin is especially interested in the tool which allows the creation.

Damien Marchal

In Damien Marchal's work, sound is omnipresent, like a common thread in his research. Through his plastic or performative creations, sound becomes visible, represented by a movement, an object or a form. For the realization of his works, Damien Marchal uses technologies very far from the traditional oil on canvas. It is rather about computer tools to measure the sound, of XXL tracing table realized to measure.
