Vera Molnar - Comprendre, c'est transformer - 2013 - Oniris
Throughout the summer of 2013, the Oniris gallery is hosting "Understanding is Transforming", the eighth solo exhibition of recent works by Vera Molnar in Rennes.
Installed in Paris after the war. At the beginning of the 1950s, Vera Molnar turned to geometric abstraction, working on form, its transformation and displacement.
Her work very quickly led to the use of rational systems by simplifying the pictorial language and reducing it to lines arranged horizontally, vertically or according to calculated inclinations. One of the characteristics of her work is the omnipresence of the square, which she explained with great simplicity: "I make a lot of lines, sometimes the lines close up and make shapes, among these shapes there are a lot of squares, simply because I love squares".
