In spring 2024, for its sixteenth participation in the ART PARIS ART FAIR, Oniris.art presents a project based around four artists under the theme of "transmission".
This intergenerational transmission has characterized the gallery since Florent Paumelle took over from his mother over twelve years ago, and above all the artistic bond that exists between the artists of different generations represented by the gallery. Through painting and sculpture, the project revolves around the abstract geometry that has characterized the gallery since its creation in 1986:
- Nicolas CHARDON's painting [1974 - ...] introduces reality and life into Suprematist abstract motifs, from which he humorously emancipates himself through the medium. Here, no canvas, but trivial fabrics (madras, gingham), originally squared and straight, undergo the deformations of being nailed to the stretchers. The abstract squares then painted take their distorted place.
- Norman DILWORTH [1931 - 2023] began by exploring the possibilities of concrete art through painting and drawing. From the 1970s onwards, his sculptures took on a new importance, as they were no longer objects that structured three-dimensional space, but began to have their own identity. They now develop in space from their point of origin. Each of Norman Dilworth's works creates its own dimensional space through its concrete, material and visual genesis.
- Vera MOLNAR [1924 - 2023] was a pioneer in the use of computers in artistic creation in the late 60s. Since the 1950s, she has turned to geometric abstraction, working on form, its transformation and displacement. A true visual artist, she explored lines, squares, whites, blacks, grays, blues and reds, bringing out the unexpected and imaginary freedom through a series of transformations of form worthy of scientific experimentation.
- Olivier PETITEAU [1974 - ...] is a multi-talented artist. He combines different artistic practices such as marquetry, sculpture, music, silk-screening, ink drawing, machinery and more. Despite the different techniques, all his works are linked, expressed and enriched by statistics, movement, repetition and mechanism.
